16th Annual Alumni Game

One of Placer United Soccer Club’s most time-honored traditions is the Annual Alumni Game when we welcome back past players of the Club.

This is a unique opportunity for us to catch up with old teammates, celebrate college successes, share stories, make new memories, and take a few snaps, as well as hassle your old coach. This year we will have some of our former and current MLS and USL pro soccer alumni players in attendance.

Players, please arrive early to check-in and receive your game jersey.

2023 College Signing Ceremonies

Placer United Soccer Club proudly celebrates our area high school seniors who will take their athletic skills to the next level as they move on to their chosen colleges and universities. These athletes signed their letter of intent to their chosen schools where they will continue to play soccer.

“The Placer United Signing Ceremony is an incredible opportunity to reflect on how far our seniors have come and where they are going,” said Director of Boys Coaching, Kevin Unsworth. “A college degree can change a person’s life trajectory and it’s important to celebrate and recognize the importance of this step on their journey to and through college.”

Placer United honors student-athletes during one of two events each year; Spring Signings in May, and Fall Signings in November.

Player Development Pathway

Placer United is a community-based soccer club with a focus on player development. We offer players three distinct, but integrated entry points:

  • Grassroots: Introductory soccer for children ages 5-12
  • Transition to Strike: Players coming out of the Grassroots Program, ages 5-9
  • Competitive: By invitation after a tryout, ages 7-19

We strive to develop all players from within our club, continually looking for emerging talent from our own in-house programs to enhance and develop our high-level competitive program. Home grown talent is the best kind of talent.

While some of our youngest talent may emerge quickly, and take a direct path to our competitive program, we aim to retain others in our Transition to Strike program and Grassroots program who may not emerge so quickly and may need some more time to develop to their full potential before joining the ranks of our competitive teams. Constant monitoring and planning are vital to keeping all our players on the best possible pathway for their individual growth and development.
