Evan Hodge commits to Vermont

“I chose Vermont because it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. It is something new and something different, and that’s what I wanted. It is a beautiful place to go to school, and start my life. I am looking forward to playing soccer at the college level, and competing with the top players. Also, to being independent, I’m ready to grow up and start my own life. My biggest goal in college soccer is to be one of the top players in the nation, to make the All-Conference team, and to be developed to play at the next level. I’ve had 2 coaches during my soccer career that I’d like to thank, and they are: Nathan Williams and Paul O’Brien. With their knowledge and time, they have shaped me into the player I am now. Almost everything I know and have done is from them. So I’d like to thank them for developing me as a player, and as a young man. Thank you.”

Conor Delaney commits to CSUMB

When asked what made him choose CSUMB, Conor stated “I chose CSUMB because it offers the academics I am interested in studying and it is a smaller school. I like the soccer program which I think will fit my style of play. Also I will be playing in a beautiful area in Monterey Bay. I am looking forward to playing with a new team with players at the next level. I think Placer and CDA have prepared me to do well and I am anxious to use my skills and all the things the coaches have taught me over the years. My biggest goal in college soccer is to come out in the fall and compete for a starting spot and work as hard as I can. I also want to make myself a better player by playing at the next level.”

Savannah Coiner Commits to Clemson University

Savannah Coiner, a 2011 graduate, of the U17 Placer ’93 Gold Team has given her verbal commitment to Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina. The Tigers are Division I and compete in the ACC (Atlantic Coast Conference), one of the toughest conferences in the country. Savannah chose Clemson for its small school atmosphere, location and good balance between academics and athletics. She is looking forward to experiencing the Southern college sports spirit and tradition.

Clemson offers a wide range of majors that fit into Savannahs intended area of study. She is looking either at a Nutrition major, physical therapy or rehabilitation sciences. The great academics, in addition to being able to play against the best teams in the country, is what made Savannah choose this school over the many other offers she received. “I’m excited for the opportunity to play against North Carolina and some of the other top teams in the country”

Having been with the club since U10, there’s a long list of people that Savannah needs to thank. Most recently, all the help she has gotten from Ron Benjamin. “Ron has helped me so much both on the field playing and off the field with the recruiting process, which would have been quite overwhelming without his help.” Thanks to the entire club and all the support I have received.

Brooke Apodaca commits to Dominican University

Brooke Apodaca from the Placer 93 Gold team commits to Dominican University in San Rafael. Apodaca states, “I chose Dominican University for its small beautiful campus, great athletics, top academics, and that its so close to home and San Francisco. They have an up and coming soccer program that I think I can make an impact on, and a cool coaching staff and group of players. Being D2, I love how it gives me a well-balanced life between soccer, school, and social life. I have high aspirations of being a nurse, and Dominican has one of the top Nursing programs in California. Dominican was the perfect fit for me.”
